MEET BELINDA
My name is Belinda Fox-Spencer, and I'm running for the U.S. Congress, House of Representatives to represent my home, West Virginia's 1st district. I was born and raised in southern West Virginia, where I still reside today. Growing up, I was taught the values of hard work and respect for others, as many of them worked in farming, infrastructure, and the military. I'm proud to say I grew up in a Christian home in which I was taught the importance of compassion and love for all people. I have two children, Raven and Sadie. My son, Raven, is a graduate from WVU Medical School. My daughter, Sadie, is a high school student in Monroe County. I'm a small business owner and have worked in health care for twenty years as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, specializing in Women's Health.
Like you, I'm very disturbed to watch what is happening to our state and country. More than ever, we need bold leadership and experience in controversial issues, such as Civil Rights, Energy Independence, Healthcare, Preventive Services, Pro-Life, and the Second Amendment. I'm tired of corruptness, empty political speeches, immorality, and the unwillingness to take a stand in the face of adversity.
West Virginia needs a representative to fight for our state, and what seems to be lost -- our freedoms, morals and values. Our children deserve a chance to grow up without fear and insecurity. We need real solutions, not broken promises from broken parties. Take a look around you. If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got. If we do not take a stand now, we and our future generations will suffer immensely.
We are indeed living in very perilous times. This election and the families of West Virginia are important to me. My experience in business and health care makes me the best candidate to represent West Virginia. I want to go to Washington to fight for our nation and my home state.
